My Favorite Books & Why You Should Read Them | Butter Angels Handcrafted Skin Care

I'm constantly working to improve myself. I firmly believe that by working on myself, I will be a better person, mother, wife, and business owner. Like ripples in a pond, my self improvement will spread to all areas of my life. One of the many tools I utilize to help in my efforts are books, specifically audiobooks. Audiobooks help me transform my Samsung, car and office into a university. Tuition is as expensive as the book itself, and classes can be held anywhere and at anytime that I choose. My classmates are friends and colleagues in mastermind groups and book clubs.

In my studies, I've gathered a few favorites that I will definitely read time and time again. Here are my top 5 and why you should read them.

Abundance Now: Amplify Your Life & Achieve Prosperity Today

Anything by Lisa Nicholas does it for me. I find her story of how she developed her life from a place of poverty to millions inspiring. Abundance Now realistically shares how you can create an abundant life from the inside out. Yes, personal wealth is discussed. Lisa Nicholas delves deeper providing insight on how to make your life in its current state abundant. If you want to be wealthy, it is very important to grasp the concept of true abundance.

The Introvert Entrepreneur: Amplify Your Strengths and Create Success On Your Own Terms

Beth L. Beulow, a fellow introvert entrepreneur, coaches other introvert entrepreneurs on how to utilize their strengths and energy to develop a strong thriving business. Each chapter is filled with actionable tips and personal examples. This book helped me gather the courage to develop my personal pitch via a pitch coach, Angela Pride,  and find a Toastmasters group, so that I could better navigate networking events and speaking engagements. Another important part of developing a strong business is having the ability and courage to overcome your fear of meeting new people.

The 22 Immutable Laws of Branding

The 22 Immutable Laws of Branding is written by Al Ries and Laurie Ries. Both thoroughly outline the 22 laws of effective branding. Each explanation is user friendly and void of technical jargon. The beauty of this book is that it is small making it easy to finish in a weekend. Many of the laws can effectively utilized immediately. Who doesn't want to get impactful information in a short period of time?

The Power of I AM: Two Words That Will Change Your Life Today

Joel Osteen is another author that could write anything and I would read it. The Power  Of I Am is one of those such books. So much of entrepreneurship is staying positive and believing in yourself when business is good and bad. The Power Of I Am simply and easily helps you develop the practice of speaking positivity into your life. Each lesson can be easily shared with friends and family as well. My daughter and I speak statements of affirmation every morning on the way to school, beginning with the words "I AM...". This helps us start our days with positivity and love instead of negativity and fear.

Think and Grow Rich

Napolean Hill created Think and Grow Rich in 1937. Today the principles of this book are still practiced daily by the wealthy. Napolean Hill provides insight on how the wealthy developed their financial stability with affirmations and sensible practices. Without positive thinking and solid habits your business and wealth will not grow. This book will help you get started in the right direction, regardless of your demographic or industry.
